I'm Back!!!!!

I know, i know, it has been decades since I posted a blog. My busy schedule and much running on the road has delayed me quite a bit. Please pray for me as I seek to "down-size" my schedule!!! I know the choir and musicians are saying "yeah, right!" But I promise you I'm striving to do so.

Having said that, I want you all to know I am really serious about cutting back on our outings as a church. But you know that when you are a church as great as Gaines Street Baptist Church, the demands are great, and others are longing for us to come share some of that greatness and anointing at their places of worship. What can we say? To whom much is given much is required. BUT........much is required at home right now!!!! Sometimes you can spend so much time helping other people's church, that your own church starts to lie wasted. Yall feelin me on this?

Therefore, I have made a personal decision that in the year 2009, I probably won't accept many (if any) in-town revivals. If I do, they will have to understand that I won't be available on Wednesday nights! I sooooooo want to grow our bible study. We have been averaging 70-80 people for 5 years now. I think its time for an increase, and in order for that to happen, I am going to have to BE THERE on Wednesdays.

I am also going to TWEAK the Wednesdays night experience in order to give it a new flavor. In an effort to provide relevant ministry for TODAY, the Wednesdays night experience will no longer be known as merely, "Wednesday Night Bible Study", It will be known as our "High Definition Service....."Where we will see and study life in a clear and up-close fashion through the word of God" We will open with praise and worship as usual (really need the praise team to pump this for me). Then we will move to the teaching component, which will be known as the HDTV period (High Definition Teaching with Visuals)

All this will take effect the first week of the year.
